Our commitment to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
Coffee Time Scotland and its affiliated Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) are dedicated to the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking as well as the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
As an equal opportunity employer, we’re dedicated to fostering and assuring a courteous and non-discriminatory workplace for all of our employees. All of our employees should have the assurance that they may report wrongdoing without running any personal danger.
Our hiring and personnel management procedures are made to guarantee that all candidates for employment are qualified to do so lawfully in the UK and to protect current employees from mistreatment or coercion. We don’t do business with any organisations that knowingly encourage slavery, servitude, or forced or compelled labour, whether they are based in the UK or elsewhere.
Our practices and policies
We consider the risk of modern slavery in our company and supply networks to be moderate given the nature of our industry.
Regarding our internal procedures and regulations, we are dedicated to promoting employee welfare and ensuring that they are free to bring up any moral concerns, including those involving modern slavery. To prove this, we have made this statement accessible to all employees on our website, regardless of whether they work directly for Coffee Time Scotland or one of our SPVs. For the purpose of ensuring that our zero-tolerance policy towards human trafficking and modern slavery is upheld, we shall routinely assess our internal procedures and our supply chain.
We want our suppliers and contractors to support our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. To make sure they do, we:
- make explicit in our Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain Policy that we have a zero-tolerance approach to Modern Slavery and Human Rights contraventions of any kind
- will continually review our supply chains and carry out risk-based assessments of our suppliers and
- review the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statements published by our key suppliers.
Responsibility for this Policy lies with Derek Chambers, Managing Director, Coffee Time Scotland. The Policy’s implementation is the collective responsibility of all employees, suppliers and subcontractors.
This Policy will be reviewed and updated every year.
